We do not sell mouldings, and nothing in a Doorcase scheme needs a workshop. Every part is a standard profile from B&Q, Wickes or Homebase that you can buy the same day.

Before you order
Do I need carpentry skills?
A mitre box or mitre saw, grab adhesive, filler and decorator's caulk. If you can measure carefully and cut an angle, you can build a Doorcase scheme. The plan assumes no workshop and no specialist tools.
Why pay, when kit sites design for free?
Because those services design around the kit they need to sell you, in one house style, for a standard door. Doorcase sells no mouldings, so the plan is drawn only around your room, in whichever of seven directions suits it, from parts you buy wherever is nearest and cheapest. The £25 buys the composition and the independence, not a route into someone’s checkout.
What will the materials cost?
It depends on your wall and the scheme we draw, which is why every plan includes a costed shopping list before you buy anything. All parts are off-the-shelf profiles from mainstream suppliers, not bespoke joinery. If you give us a materials budget in your brief, we draw the scheme to sit within it. As a rough guide for a single standard door:
- Pared back £40–60
- Fluted £55–85
- Deco £70–100
- Parisian £100–135
- Victorian £105–140
- Georgian £105–140
- Arched £110–145
These are indicative ranges for materials only, using primed MDF profiles from B&Q, Wickes or similar. Your plan includes exact product names, links and prices on the day it is drawn.
What about my existing architrave and skirting?
Most schemes keep what you have and build around it. Where a scheme is genuinely better served by replacing the architrave, the plan says so explicitly and includes the replacement in the cut list, so you know before you pick up a crowbar. If you would rather not remove anything, say so in your brief and we draw accordingly.
My door or ceiling is not a standard size. Is that a problem?
Non-standard openings are the point. Every plan is drawn from scratch to your measurements; there is no template being stretched to fit.
I rent. Can I do this?
Mouldings fix with adhesive and pins and are difficult to remove cleanly, so speak to your landlord first. Many will say yes to work that raises the finish of the room; get it in writing.
I'm outside the UK. Can I order?
Yes. Plans are available across the UK and Europe. European shopping lists reference Leroy Merlin, Castorama or your national equivalents, drawn against their stock ranges. Payment is taken in pounds (£25) for now. Version française.
What if I change my mind?
Cancel for a full refund at any point before drawing begins. Once drawing starts the fee is committed, because the plan is made to your measurements. If the finished scheme does not suit the room, one revision is included.
