Terms of sale

These terms apply to every plan you order from Doorcase. Please read them before you buy. By placing an order, you accept them.

Who you are buying from

Doorcase Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number [COMPANY NUMBER], registered office [REGISTERED OFFICE ADDRESS]. You can contact us at hello@doorcase.org.

1. What you are buying

Every Doorcase plan is a made-to-measure design, drawn by us for your specific opening. We prepare and check each plan by hand for your order; it is not generated or delivered automatically. Your finished plan is supplied as a personalised PDF, normally within 24 to 48 hours of our receiving the measurements we need.

2. Price and payment

The price is shown on the site before you order: £25 for UK orders and €29 for EU orders. The price shown is the total amount you pay. Payment is taken at the time of order, through our payment provider, Stripe. We start preparing your plan once payment is received.

3. Cancelling your order

You can cancel for a full refund at any time before we deliver your finished plan. Once it has been delivered, you lose your 14-day right to cancel, because the plan is made-to-measure digital content prepared specifically for you and supplied with your consent given at checkout. This applies to change of mind only. It does not affect your rights if the plan is faulty or not as described (see section 7).

4. Your consent at checkout

Before you pay, you confirm that you want us to start work immediately and that once your finished plan has been delivered you will lose your 14-day right to cancel. You give this consent by ticking the box provided at checkout. The box is not pre-ticked. If you do not tick it, we will not start your plan until the 14-day period has passed, and delivery will be delayed accordingly.

5. Preparing and delivering your plan

We prepare your plan from the measurements and requirements you give us, so please make sure they are accurate. We deliver by email to the address on your order. If we need anything more to complete your plan, we will contact you, and the delivery time runs from when we have what we need.

6. Using your plan

When you buy a plan, you may use it to build a single door surround for your own home or project. You may not resell, share, publish or otherwise distribute the plan, or use it to produce surrounds for others commercially. We keep the copyright in the plan and in our drawings, schedules and other documents.

7. Quality and your statutory rights

Nothing in these terms removes your statutory rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, your plan must match its description, be of satisfactory quality and be fit for purpose. If a plan we supply contains an error of ours, is faulty or does not match what we described, you are entitled to a remedy under that Act, and we will correct or redraw it at no charge. These rights cannot be excluded, and the loss of the change-of-mind cancellation right in section 3 does not affect them.

8. Our responsibility to you

We supply plans based on standard off-the-shelf mouldings and the measurements you give us. It is your responsibility to check your own measurements, source your materials, install safely, and comply with any building or safety requirements that apply to your project. We are not responsible for your installation, for materials you buy from third parties, or for losses caused by measurements or information that turn out to be inaccurate. We do not limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including your statutory rights.

9. If something goes wrong

If you have a problem with your order, contact us at hello@doorcase.org and we will try to put it right. You may also have rights under the consumer law of the country where you live.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you live in another country, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of your country that apply to you and cannot be excluded by agreement.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one published on the site at the time you place it.
